On a cool, wet Memorial Day weekend, over 100 racers and trekkers made their way to the top of Poke-O-Moonshine Mountain. An even more impressive feat? Raising $22,015.47 for camper scholarships.

Since 2000, the Patch Sprint has served as a fundraising event for the Adirondack Scholarship Foundation. Participants walk / run / hike 13.5 miles to summit all four Pok-O Patch mountains (Bare, Rattlesnake, Sugarloaf, and Poke-O-Moonshine) in one day.

“Thank you to all the participants and volunteers of the 2025 Patch Sprint," said Erik Zimmerman, Executive Director of the Adirondack Scholarship Foundation. "This wonderful annual event challenges competitors, builds relationships, and most importantly, helps send kids to camp! Great work from Andrew “Gonzo” Gonzalez in his first year as Patch Sprint Race Director and board member.”

In addition to the countless hours logged by volunteers, the event could not be possible without corporate sponsors, Rexel Foundation, Schluter Systems and Stewart’s Shops; the in-camp-family awards providers, Homestead Maple and Doc’s Oldkinda Cookies; and the generous hosting by Pok-O-MacCready Camps.

"The Patch Sprint began as a solely Pok-O-MacCready event and has blossomed into something new, uniting Camp with local participants, volunteers and organizations," said race director Andrew Gonzalez. "This is something I hope to foster in the coming years, to be able to grow a culture and community that borrows the best elements that each of these subgroups have to offer, in a style that is uniquely Patch Sprint's."
