2009 Scholarships Awarded

Members of the Adirondack Scholarship Foundation’s Board of Directors gathered in February to make final decisions on the giving out of scholarships for the 2009 camp season.

“We were worried about whether or not we could match last year’s total, given the current economic climate,” stated Jack Swan.  However, according to board member John Andrews, “There were a lot of applicants and, in the end, nearly everyone received at least a partial scholarship.”

According to Swan, roughly 20 scholarships, totaling over $50,000 was given out  “That’s a big amount of money to give away for such a small camp, and in these tough economic times.

“We wouldn’t be able to be in this nice position had it not been for generosity of our donors, especially last year’s Patch Sprint and 46-in-a-Day, which together raised over eleven thousand dollars.”
